DotBattle – a battle for territory, fought with dots

Surround, capture and retake your opponent’s bases. A simple rule, deep tactics – a quick round solo against the computer, or a head-to-head duel on the same phone.

How to play DotBattle

The rules explain themselves in seconds, yet every move still has to be weighed against a counterattack.

Place dots

You take turns placing dots on any free cell – they don’t need to be adjacent, so you build your plan across the whole board.

Close off territory

Surround your opponent’s dots with a wall of your own. The enclosed area becomes your base, and every trapped dot scores a point.

Retake bases

Encircle an existing base of your opponent’s to capture it along with its points. No territory is safe until the round ends.

Two modes, a match on your terms

Play solo against the computer, or sit down together with one phone. You set the match rules before you start.

Playing against the computer

Three genuinely different AI levels based on searching through variations, not cosmetic difficulty bumps.

  • Easy – thinks one move ahead and sometimes goes easy on beginners
  • Medium – calculates variations two moves ahead
  • Expert – three moves ahead, playing for both attack and defense

Two players on one phone

A classic hot-seat duel – you against a friend on one device, turn by turn.

  • A chess clock from 1 to 10 minutes per player
  • 1 to 3 dots per turn
  • A match to 1, 3 or 5 won rounds

What sets DotBattle apart

A simple rule with a lot of decision space – and a mechanic that keeps the tension until the last move.

Reversible territories

No captured cell is safe until the round is over – a base can be retaken along with its points, which creates real comebacks.

A dot can go anywhere

With no requirement to be adjacent to other dots, you get a wider range of moves than in classic grid games.

Three AI levels

From a friendly opponent for new players to expert-level play that calculates several moves ahead.

Configurable match rules

Time per player, moves per turn and match length let you set the pace – from a quick skirmish to a longer duel.

Ready for the world

Full localization into 31 languages, selectable independently of the system language. The game works offline, no account needed.
